On Nov 16, Apple posted an announcement on its website saying “Tomorrow is just another day. That you’ll never forget.” Below it were four clocks with suspiciously-placed hands. Speculation ran rampant over what the announcement would besome suspected it was the rumored addition of 90-second song previews, while others hoped for some sort of cloud storage capability (pointing to the “never forget” phrasing as a clue). When some news outlets posted that the actual announcement was that the Beatles catalogue was being added to iTunes, it seemed too anticlimactic to believe. Undeterred, however, Apple went ahead and confirmed it.Many bloggers do see the announcement as a letdown, pointing to the fact that everyone who wants the Beatles albums has already gotten them on their iPod from other sources (hopefully legal). Whether this is true or not, it doesn’t seem to be worth the effort that some people are putting into their criticism. As with anything, EastCoastMusicMall’s belief is: if you don’t like it, don’t buy it. There are sure to be people who are indeed thankful for the chance to buy Beatles songs on their iTunes accountfor others, there are always the record shops. Whether you’re buying music or instruments, always know what you want and what you’re getting, and we think you won’t be disappointed.
